The honeybee is our most beneficial insect. It makes delicious honey that enhances our taste. It pollinates more than 90 food crops that account for one third of all the most important things we eat. It creates products that are healthful. And, not the least, it is sensitive to harmful things in our environment that might threaten our very survival.

As result of threats to its environment, many of them imposed by humans, the honeybee now is fighting for its own survival. There is much we need to know about this delightful creature that plays such an important role in our world.
